Returning from Rotorua

Our last day in Rotorua was much more relaxed. We only had one destination before Auckland - the Skyline Gondola.
Dani and I on SkyLine Gondola
the boys on the gondola
We got to the gondola and waited for an insanely long time for Luke and Kenny to get our tickets. But soon we were on our way to the top of the mountain via gigantic skyline gondola. Each car was like triple the size of the one in Queenstown, which was already about double the size of the ones in Cairns. Tim was a bit scared, which honestly made me feel better because I wasn't the only one scared of things apparently. But we all made it to the top without incident.
Then we headed over to the luge ride, which is just like go-karting. I was very angry because a few of us got separated from the rest of the group. I know we're all going to the same place. I DON'T CARE. But I guess Luke saw that I was not happy because then he was like "come join us" so I did. The rest of the separated group didn't want to but I didn't care and didn't wait and once I was over with the rest of the group Luke convinced them to join us as well.
luge track
We took the scenic route first. I almost lost control of my cart and died. Be glad I'm alive.
Poor Mikaela's cart stopped working so she had to drag it for a while but she finished the same time I did so I guess she fixed it; go her.
ski lift
Then we took the scary ski lift back to the top of the mountain to ride the luge down again. It actually wasn't scary at all, but maybe that's because we were already at the top of the mountain and we were only like 4 feet above the ground lol.
The second time we took the intermediate track and I had a lot more control over my cart. I didn't almost fall or die or anything. It was a lot better. I was really close to Anastasia the whole time and then the road split and she went one way and I went the other and she ended up beating me. But it's okay it was still fun.
Then we took the lift back up to the top of the mountain to go to lunch. It was the best buffet I ever had. I made up for not finishing those 5 mussels at dinner by eating a whole plateful after I finished all my other food and ice cream. I had crepes, beef, pork, lamb chops, fish, soup, literally everything. It was lovely. I very much appreciated the foods on this trip. They do make eating nothing a little harder though...
After lunch we jumped back on the bus and headed back to Auckland where I then went to sleep upon returning to my flat. I told ya this day was less eventful.
Until next time,
xoxo,
Tasha
