Happy Easter, Happy Easter, Couldn't Miss This One This Year

As you know, for Easter I was in Byron Bay. I went to the Bluesfest, but I did not go to church. So, as I said on Easter, I would celebrate on Greek Easter. Well Greek Easter was this past Sunday (May 1). So I got my butt up super early to walk to St. Benedict's for Mass. Yes, I know I'm supposed to go to Mass every week, but no one ever said I was a good Catholic. But also just so you're aware, my church at home is St. Benedict's so that's why I got up to walk to St. Benedict's instead of just pretending to be whatever the church next to my dorm is (I think it's like Presbyterian or something but I don't know).
The weather here is kinda weird. As in, the sky here is weird. It looked like it looks when it snows, but it was like at least 60/70 degrees. Definitely way too warm to snow, and it never snows in Auckland. But like snow sky looks different than rain sky and it looked like snow sky. It also didn't rain at all.
So I got there 25 minutes early and I was like the 3rd person there. So I got a row to myself and hoped no one would sit with me. Eventually two people did join but they sat on the other side of the pew and the row was basically two pews put together so I was still in my own pew so it was all good.
They didn't have the readings on the sheet with the music (they didn't even have full music/prayer books, just a printed sheet of paper with that day's songs), so it was really hard to understand/follow what they were saying but when they got to the blessing of the Eucharist and such I already have that part memorized so I felt much more in my element and it was like Father Carroll was right there instead of Father HeavyAccent. Since I did miss Easter I figured I should take the body and blood this time (usually I just get the body) and oh my goodness maybe it was like penance for missing Easter or something but that blood set my blood on fire and I'm glad I didn't burn right then and there like oh my goodness it was awful. But somehow I made it out alive and headed back to my flat.
On the way I saw an escort of some Indian royalty. Like imagine Obama's escort, like with the police then three black cars then his then three more black cars then police. That was what this was, except the cars were silver not black and there was an Indian flag on the middle one. (I googled it when I got back to my flat, I didn't know what flag it was.) It was kinda cool to see.
But then I made it back to my flat where Sarah and Celeste both informed me they actually wouldn't go to the zoo with me. Shocker. They pretty much always cancel, at least when it comes to the zoo. I've given up on them and the zoo. I'll go by myself someday. So I took a nap.
When I woke up, I just chilled until 8, when Anastasia invited us all to her flat to play an egg game because she's Greek and it's her real Easter. That made me feel a more Eastery and I'm very grateful she let me join in on her festivities. I lost in the first round both times we played.

So how you play is the eggs are boiled and you go nose to nose and tap the eggs and only one egg breaks. The broken egg loses and the unbroken egg moves on to the next round. Mikaela did really well and she went to the championship round both times.
Also I ate some frozen lamb dinner before I went to Anastasia's. I forgot to mention that.
After Anastasia's, I went back to my room and went back to sleep.
Also I would just like to point out that I do actually have much more Easter-y dresses here with me but due to my legs still very much having their, um, skin condition from Bali I didn't wear any of my Easter dresses.

And, of course, I am excited
Tonight's the night, but I've set my mind
Not to do too much about it

Hardly realizing the date

Doing Easter Greek this time.

A & P has provided me 
With the frozen lamb and rice

Already in the oven, nice and hot
Oh darn! Guess what I forgot?

So on, with the heels, back out to the church
To the only place for holiday
When what to my wondering eyes should appear
In the pew is that guy I've been chasing all year

"Welcome to my home," he said
"Need a break, this year's been crazy"
I said, "Me too, but why are you?
You mean you forgot Easter too?"

Then suddenly we laughed and laughed
Caught on to what was happening
That Easter magic's brought this tale
To a very happy ending
